fallen leaves in the driveway
she opened the door, stepped outside and breathe the air
exhaled deeply and smiled

good morning world, she said
her cat walked with her and rubbed against her leg
water sprang up from beneath the grass
and into a bottle that was made of glass

what's that, she said, picked it up and yelled
blood rushed out her finger like a bullet to the head
all day she sat, with her face in a screen
a bandaid 'round, her finger reading an online magazine .
